next door to the Doria Pamphilj Gallery
A church was first built over the site of a Roman house from the first century that was thought have been where Saints Peter, Paul and the Evangelists John and Luke stayed.
In the 17th century the Baroque facade was added by Pietro da Cortona and the interior of the church renovated.
The high altar is attributed to Gianlorenzo Bernini.
There are altarpieces by Baroque artists Giovanni Odazzi, Giovanni Domenico Piastrini, Pier Leone Ghezzi, Giuseppe Ghezzi and Giacinto Brandi.
The church is usually open between 5pm and 7pm daily but closed on Monday.
The crypt beneath the church can be visited by appointment.
